MATERIALS / DESIGNERS
The Material Resource Centre of PolyU Design invited seven young designers, the alumni of PolyU Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, to create artwork for the exhibition.
For this material-themed exhibition, each designer has produced artwork using a single material.
The main visual of the exhibition focuses on typography, using the shapes of geometric fonts to present the characteristics and textures of different materials, allowing the audience to visually experience the richness and diversity of materials.
The main visual of the exhibition focuses on typography, using the shapes of geometric fonts to present the characteristics and textures of different materials, allowing the audience to visually experience the richness and diversity of materials.
In addition, the motion design is inspired by the "shuffling" action of a mixer and the game Mahjong, constantly mixing and redistributing different font particles, representing the collision and combination of different materials and designers, presenting the interaction and innovation between materials and designers, and allowing the audience to visually experience this process of interaction and innovation. The visual also extends to the navigation within the physical exhibition, increasing the fun and interactivity of the exhibition.
